NEW FOR 2011 – VIDEO

New for 2011 are the videos that I and my associates are now producing for clients.

Using a steadicam mounted Canon EOS 5D MKII, we produce beautiful flowing HD videos which fuse together the best aspects of both the still and moving image (always keeping faithful to our traditions and roots in documentary and reportage photography and film-making)  to create a slideshow movie that no one else is currently producing… the effect is truly stunning and very worthwhile considering… view sample videos of my reportage and documentary style baptism photography and videography on the VIDEO page.

Baptism and Christening Documentary and Reportage Photography and Photojournalism

Whilst much is said and written about wedding reportage and wedding documentary photography… there are very few photographers who actually bring this aspect of photography to Baptism and Christening photography.

With a documentary/reportage style of photography for a baptism or christening you can capture the most priceless moments in what is a very important day for a little child… the day he or she is given their name.

In order to record a baptism or christening in the documentary style I would normally visit the parents home on the morning of the baptism for an hour or so to capture those moments of preparation for the big day ahead. I would then go on ahead to the church to photograph grand-parents, family and friends awaiting the arrival of their baby where-upon I would continue in a reportage style to photograph the event of baptism. My style as a photojournalist is very discreet… observing and recording these most precious of moments without interference or staging… there’s plenty of time and more appropriate location at the reception for doing some group portraits of the baby with parents, god-parents and other family.
